A tragic accident occurred late Friday night in Surat's Mota Varachha area when a high-speed luxury car veered off the newly constructed Outer Ring Road, hitting people sitting by the roadside. The incident claimed the lives of three family members and left four others seriously injured, including a pregnant woman.
The deceased have been identified as Vian Deveshbhai Vaghani, aged 6, Devesh Vaghani, and Sanket Himmatbhai Vavadia. Following the accident, the police arrested the driver, Jignesh Amritlal Gohil, who was traveling from Ahmedabad to Surat to meet relatives. Police reports suggest that Jignesh lost control of the car due to drowsiness, leading to the fatal crash.
The tragedy has cast a pall of grief over the victims' families, who are now calling for a thorough investigation and stringent action against the driver. The accident has also sparked outrage among local residents, who criticize the poorly lit and high-speed Outer Ring Road for frequent accidents.
