Tempo Overturns on Dhulia Highway, Killing 3 and Injuring 7

Surat : A tragic accident took place this morning on the outskirts of Kikwad village on the Dhulia Highway near Bardoli in Surat district. A tempo coming from Maharashtra, loaded with tomatoes, met with an accident on the border of Kikwad village. The driver of the tempo lost control of the steering, causing the vehicle to overturn. In this accident, three people died on the spot, while seven others were injured. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Cause of the Accident:

According to the police, the tempo driver lost control of the steering, leading to the overturn. The tempo was carrying a large quantity of tomato carts, and when it overturned, a total of ten people were buried under the load.

Identification of Dead and Injured:

The deceased have been identified as Pintu Piraji Pawar (40), Bhavsa Pandu Mali (40), and Sonu Ekta Patil (35), all residents of Khamtane village in Satna tehsil of Nashik district, Maharashtra. The injured include Tulsiram Chintamani Sonawane (35), Santoshbhai Khuljibhai Pawar (40), Babaji Kankuva Panwar (30), Akashbhai Bharv Mali (30), Krishna Sureshbhai Pawar (12), Rakeshbhai Mancharam Borse (35), and Rajendra Dubala Tadis (48), all from Nashik district.

Police Investigation:

The Bardoli police have started an investigation into the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem. The police are also working to determine the exact cause of the accident.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety. Drivers must exercise caution and avoid speeding to prevent such tragedies.
