Surat: Dealers Flee, Abandoning Rs 1 Crore Worth of Drugs

Surat's Special Operations Group (SOG) and the PCB team seized drugs worth Rs 1 crore in Rampura. During a deal, Shahbaz Khan and Kasif Shaikh noticed police and fled, leaving behind one kilogram of MD drugs. Police are investigating the case.

In Surat's Rampura area, the city's Special Operations Group (SOG) and the PCB team made a significant drug seizure. The recovery, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, occurred during a deal between local resident Shahbaz Khan and drug dealer Kasif Shaikh. As the deal was in progress, the dealers noticed the police presence and immediately fled the scene, abandoning their vehicle and a laptop bag containing one kilogram of high-quality MD drugs. The police also recovered a mobile phone and other items from the bag. The police have initiated a case, seized the drugs and belongings, and commenced an investigation into the matter.

Reports suggest that Kasif Shaikh has been involved in the drug trade for an extended period, using his network to distribute drugs manufactured in pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, it is suspected that he profits by adulterating high-quality drugs with intoxicants, thereby increasing their weight and bundling them for sale.
