Surat's MANTRA and SVNIT Sign MoU for Textile Sector Development

MANTRA and SVNIT in Surat collaborate to promote skill development and R&D in textiles. The MoU includes courses, research activities, internships, faculty exchange, and joint conferences, enhancing industry-academia linkages and benefiting students and the textile industry.

In a move to bolster skill development and research in the textile sector, the Surat-based Man Made Textile Research Association (MANTRA) and Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership aims to address the textile industry's needs in Surat.

Under the MoU, both institutions will develop and conduct courses and research activities related to the textile sector, aligning with the requirements of Surat's textile industry. Key points of the MoU include conducting various courses under the National Education Policy 2020, promoting research and development at the M.Tech and PhD levels, facilitating internships and research projects for SVNIT students at MANTRA, exchanging faculty members and research scholars, organizing joint conferences and workshops, and awarding joint certificates to students pursuing M.Tech and PhD.

This collaboration is expected to enhance the availability of skilled manpower, promote the development of new technologies and processes, strengthen industry-academia linkages, and provide better education and employment opportunities for students in the textile sector.

Notable officers present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Pankaj Gandhi, Director of MANTRA; Dr. Anupam Shukla, Director of SVNIT; Dr. Jigisha Parikh, Dean of SVNIT; and Rajnikanth Bachkaniwala, Chairman of MANTRA.
