Food and Agritech-2024 Kicks Off in Surat, Aiming to Boost Agriculture and Food Processing

Surat : The three-day "Food and Agritech-2024" exhibition, organized by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and South Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industry Development Center, opened its doors today to a crowd of industry professionals and enthusiasts. The event aims to showcase the latest innovations and technologies in agriculture and food processing, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient food system.

Industry Leaders Highlight Challenges and Opportunities

The inaugural ceremony featured prominent figures from the agriculture and business sectors, who shared their insights into the current state of the industry and discussed potential solutions for growth. Ramesh Vaghasia, President of the Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the need to improve India's agricultural yield and increase the contribution of the food processing sector to the economy.

Sanjay Kumar, Regional Director of the National Cooperative Development Corporation, stressed the importance of collaboration between cooperatives, corporations, and the government to achieve sustainable development. Bhavesh Radadiya, Director of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Co-operative Limited, advocated for a combination of traditional farming practices, animal husbandry, and cooperative societies for agricultural advancements.

Branding, Pulses, and Innovation Take Center Stage

Manhar Saspra, Chairman and Managing Director of Euro India Foods, encouraged entrepreneurs to focus on branding their companies, highlighting its value in the market. Pradeep Aggarwal, President of the Bardoli Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, called for increased focus on pulse cultivation in South Gujarat, highlighting the potential for better prices and reduced import dependence.

Showcase of Innovation and Collaboration

The exhibition itself presents a platform for attendees to explore innovative technologies in areas like precision agriculture, vertical farming, food processing machinery, and sustainable packaging. With over 200 exhibitors participating, the event fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing between stakeholders from across the food and agriculture value chain.

The "Food and Agritech-2024" exhibition runs from February 10th to 12th, offering a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to contribute to the development of a more efficient and sustainable food system in India.
