Vadodara : Traffic Police Crack Down on Overcrowded School Vehicles

Vadodara - Following the tragic boat capsizing incident in the Harni Lake area that claimed 14 lives, including 12 children, the Vadodara traffic police have launched a strict campaign to prevent similar tragedies involving school transportation.

Parents in Vadodara often rely on rickshaws and vans to ferry their children to and from school. However, these vehicles are frequently overloaded, exceeding their capacity and putting the safety of children at risk. In light of the recent حادثه, traffic police formed 10-12 teams across the Eastern and Western zones to target such violations.

The campaign resulted in the seizure of 33 vehicles, including rickshaws and vans, found to be carrying more students than their permitted capacity. Legal action was also taken against the drivers of these vehicles. This decisive action serves as a strong warning to other transporters who prioritize profit over student safety.

"We are committed to ensuring the safety of children on our roads," stated a traffic police official. "This campaign is a clear message that overloading school vehicles will not be tolerated. We urge parents to be vigilant and choose safe transportation options for their children."

The Harni Lake حادثه served as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of negligence when it comes to child safety. The Vadodara traffic police's prompt action is a commendable step towards preventing similar tragedies and ensuring a safer commute for school children in the city.
