Surat : - President of the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), Ramesh Vaghasia, and Paresh Bhatt, CEO of Mission 84, made significant strides in fostering international collaborations during their visit to Vibrant Gujarat as part of the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84. The duo engaged in fruitful discussions with Khalid Khan, Board Member and Former Vice President of the Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO), from January 10 to 12.
President Vaghasia briefed Khalid Khan about the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84, extending an invitation for his involvement in the initiative. Providing insights into Mission 84, he highlighted the creation of an international online portal connecting 84,000 entrepreneurs from India with an equal number of businessmen from around the world.
The mission aims to bring together 84 Chambers of Commerce from India and 84 countries on the portal. Additionally, Consuls General of 84 countries serving in India and Ambassadors representing India globally are being engaged in this expansive network. President Vaghasia shared details about upcoming meetings with Consul Generals in India, inviting Khalid Khan to Surat for one-to-one business interactions under Mission 84.
During their discussion, Vaghasia proposed the establishment of a Buyer-Seller Association in Surat to attract international buyers and facilitate local exporters. Khalid Khan, expressing his enthusiasm, accepted the proposal to organize a meeting in this regard.
The leaders also deliberated on initiatives to support exporters in Surat, including recognizing top exporters through awards, guiding existing exporters, and assisting new traders entering the export market. They explored the possibility of launching the Surat Chapter of FIEO, considering programs to initiate an office in Surat for this purpose.
Khalid Khan pledged full support to SGCCI's Mission 84, assuring collaboration and expressing the intent to organize a buyers-sellers meet in Surat. The discussions marked a significant step towards strengthening international trade ties and promoting Surat as a hub for global business interactions.
