Surat : VNSGU Celebrates Shri Ramotsav with Cultural Programs and Giant Shri Ram Mandir Cutout
Surat - The Department of Hindu Studies and Youth Welfare of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) has organized a week-long Shri Ramotsav from January 16th to 22nd in the open space in front of the Convention Hall. The event will celebrate the upcoming Pran Pratistha Mahotsav of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya and will feature a variety of cultural programs, a giant cutout of the Shri Ram Mandir, and live telecast of the consecration ceremony.
Vice Chancellor KN Chavda and Registrar RC Gadhvi hosted a press conference at the Vice Chancellor's residence on Saturday afternoon to share details about the upcoming event. Members of the University Syndicate and Senate committees, along with representatives from print, electronic media, and social media, were also present.
Cultural Programs for All Ages
The Shri Ramotsav will feature a diverse range of cultural programs, including Gujarati Garba dance, classical dance, tribal dance, a musical evening etc. These programs will provide an opportunity for people of all ages to celebrate the life and teachings of Lord Rama.
Giant Shri Ram Mandir Cutout
One of the highlights of the Shri Ramotsav will be a giant 80-foot long and 55-foot high cutout of the Shri Ram Mandir. This impressive structure will allow people to experience the grandeur of the temple even if they are unable to attend the consecration ceremony in person.
Live Telecast of Consecration Ceremony
On January 22nd, the day of the Pran Pratistha Mahotsav, a live telecast of the consecration ceremony will be shown on a large screen in the Convention Hall. This will allow people in Surat to witness this historic event in real-time.
Connecting People to Indian Culture
The organizers of the Shri Ramotsav hope that the event will connect people of all ages and backgrounds to Indian culture and values. They believe that the event will also provide a platform for celebrating the diversity and unity of India.

- The Shri Ramotsav will be held from January 16th to 22nd in the open space in front of the Convention Hall at VNSGU.
- Programs will be held from 7 pm to 11 pm every day from January 16th to 21st and from 7 am to noon on January 22nd.
- The Shri Ram Rath Yatra will be held on the morning of January 22nd.
- A live telecast of the Shri Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav will be shown on a large screen in the Convention Hall on January 22nd.
