Surat: The textile industry in Surat is set for a major boost with the upcoming Surat International Textile Expo 2024 (SETEX), a joint initiative of the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the South Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industry Development Center (SGCTIDC). The three-day event, scheduled for January 6-8, 2024, at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center (SIECC) in Sarsana, promises to showcase the latest technology, machinery, and trends in the textile sector.
Ninth in the 'CITEX' Series:
SETEX 2024 marks the ninth edition of the 'CITEX' series of exhibitions organized by the SGCCI. According to SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia, this ambitious event aims to provide "new direction and momentum to the city's textile industry at the global level." He emphasizes that the exhibition will directly benefit Surat's growing textile industry and serve as a crucial step towards achieving a "developed India @2047" by increasing productivity and generating large-scale employment.
Wide Range of Exhibits:
The expo will showcase a diverse range of products and services across the textile spectrum. This includes textile machinery and accessories, embroidery and printing machinery, technical textiles, positioning and digital printing machines, threads, and clothing, among others. Chamber Vice President Vijay Mewawala highlights the positive response received from exhibitors representing all sectors of the industry, ensuring a comprehensive and informative event for visitors.
Official Inauguration:
The official inauguration of SETEX 2024 will take place on January 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the SIECC. S.P. Verma, Additional Textile Secretary, Government of India, will grace the occasion as the chief guest and formally inaugurate the exhibition.
