A young man from Manjalpur area was robbed of his gold chain worth Rs 80,000 on Tuesday morning near Auxilium School. The incident occurred while the victim was on his morning walk.
As per the complaint filed by Vishalbhai Devendrabhai Bhavsar, a resident of Lalbagh Road, he was walking towards Sushen Circle from Bhavan School when a rickshaw approached him from behind. Suddenly, the person sitting behind in the rickshaw grabbed his neck, broke the gold pendant chain, and pushed him to the ground. The assailants then drove the rickshaw away towards Sushen Circle.
The chain is estimated to be worth Rs 80,000 and weigh one and a half tolas of gold. Based on the victim's statement, the Manjalpur police have registered a case and are currently searching for the chain snatchers. The investigation is ongoing.
