Newly Built 288 Police Quarters Inaugurated in Surat
Providing Comfortable Accommodation for State Reserve Police Force Jawans
The Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Limited recently inaugurated newly constructed 288 houses for State Reserve Police Force Group-11 in Kamrej Taluka, Surat district. The project was completed at a cost of Rs 49 crore and was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghvi.
The new housing units provide comfortable accommodation to the police personnel, with three rooms including a kitchen in place of the earlier two rooms. The 12-story towers are equipped with modern facilities, including lifts, generator, parking shed, gas connection, wooden cupboard, and modular kitchen.
Minister Sanghvi spoke at the inauguration, recognizing the important role played by the SRP in maintaining peace and security in the state. He emphasized that the state government is modernizing the police department in a corporate style, with a focus on providing excellent facilities to the families of the jawans.
Additional DGP of Armed Forces, Dr. P.K. Roshan, and Commander, Police Reserve Force Vav Juth-11, Smt. Usha Rada, also delivered a lecture, highlighting the accommodation facilities available to the police.
The road at SRPF Vav was named after Arjun Singh, who was martyred during the Akshardham attack. The event was attended by local leaders, police officials, and their families.
This new development marks a step forward in providing comfortable accommodation to the police personnel, who play an important role in maintaining peace and security in the state. The state government's efforts to modernize the police department in a corporate style are commendable and will surely improve the quality of life for the families of the jawans.
