State Monitoring Cell Raids Gambling Den in Surat, Five Arrested, Over Rs 76,000 Seized
SURAT : In a bold move, a team from the State Monitoring Cell (SMC) raided a gambling den operating in the Amroli area of Surat. The team, dressed in plain clothes and posing as medical staff in an ambulance, caught the gamblers off guard, leading to the arrest of five individuals and the recovery of over Rs 76,000.
The raid came after the SMC received credible information about large-scale gambling activities at a residence near building number H1 in the Amroli-Kosad Housing complex. The residence, reportedly owned by Asif and Sohail, had been hosting illegal gambling sessions for some time.
Determined to crack down on the illicit operation, the SMC team devised a clever plan. Instead of approaching the residence in police uniforms, they opted for a more discreet approach. Dressed as medical personnel and arriving in an ambulance, the SMC team gained entry into the premises without raising any suspicions.
The element of surprise caught the gamblers off guard, leading to their swift apprehension. During the raid, the SMC team recovered a substantial amount of cash, along with playing cards and mobile phones.
The SMC's successful operation has sent a strong message that illegal activities will not be tolerated. The arrest of five individuals and the seizure of over Rs 76,000 demonstrate the SMC's commitment to upholding law and order in Surat.
