Surat's First Woman Army Captain Meera Dave Inspires Students at Ramakrishna College
Meera Siddharth Dave, the first woman army captain of Surat, addressed students at Sri Ramakrishna College during a motivational seminar on "Developing an Equal and Just Society under Women Leadership." The seminar was organized by the Women's Development Cell of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Computer Education and Applied Science (SRKI) under the G-20 program of the Central Government.
During her speech, Dave emphasized the important role women play in the development of society and encouraged women to determine their own roles and contribute to society. She shared her own journey in the army through an audio-visual presentation, which greatly inspired the girl students.
The program was attended by a large number of professors and students, who took advantage of the opportunity to learn from Dave's experiences. Dr. Chowlami Desai, the college's principal, welcomed Captain Meera Dave by giving her a basil plant.
Dave originally hails from Valsad and was the first woman captain of the region. After retiring from the army, she is now inspiring students in various colleges and institutes.
The seminar was organized by the coordinator of Women's Development Cell, Dr. Binita Desai, Dr. Rupal Snehkunj, and Dr. Sangeeta Sanadhya.
