Maha Aarti Organized on the Banks of Tapi River in Surat on the Occasion of Navratri
Union Minister of State Darshana Jardosh and Citizens Take Pledge to Keep Tapi Clean
On the occasion of Navratri, a Maha Aarti was organized on the banks of the Tapi River in Jahangirpura, Surat on October 23, 2023. The Aarti was attended by Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh, Surat Municipal Corporation officials, and a large number of citizens.
During the Aarti, people chanted mantras and performed the rituals according to the scriptures. Minister Jardosh also performed the Aarti of Tapi Mata and took a pledge to keep the river clean and purify it by not putting flowers in it. The view of the Maha Aarti held in Tapi was similar to the Ganga Aarti of Haridwar.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Jardosh said that the Tapi River is a lifeline for Surat and it is important to keep it clean and healthy. She urged the citizens to cooperate with the government in its efforts to keep the river clean.
The Surat Municipal Corporation has announced that the Maha Aarti of Tapi Mata will be performed every night. This will be a major tourist attraction for the city and will also help to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the river clean.
The citizens of Surat are excited about the Maha Aarti and have pledged to support the government in its efforts to keep the Tapi River clean.
