Gujarat Nursing Cricket Premier League-2 Tournament Held in Surat, Smeer Hospital Team Wins
Former Cricketer Yusuf Pathan Encourages Players, Says Nursing Staff is the Other Side of the Coin
Surat - The Gujarat Nursing Cricket Premier League-2 tournament was held at the Maniba Cricket Ground in Adajan Pal, Surat. The tournament was organized by the nursing staff and nursing students who work day and night with the doctors in the health sector in Gujarat.
More than 400 athletes, including students, hospital staff nurses, and faculty members from state nursing colleges, participated in the seven-day cricket competition. In the final match, Smeer Hospital defeated Navsari Mahakal to become the champion.
Former cricketer Yusuf Pathan was present on the occasion and encouraged the players. He said that nursing staff and students are the other side of the coin and that their dedication and compassion towards patients is exemplary. He also said that sports is a medium of all-round development and that it connects life.
Pathan further said that sports is very important to remain active and happy in life. He also said that the game of cricket teaches the lesson of concentration along with sportsmanship.
The tournament was successfully organized in a very limited time by Assistant Professor Adil Kadiwala of JK Nursing College and Viren Patel of Navi Civil under the guidance of America-based Chief Organizer and Nursing Officer Dinesh Aggarwal.
Dr. Pragyaben Dabhi started the Premier League final match with the toss. Navsari Mahakal had an exciting encounter with Screamer XI. The winning team Screamer XI was given a trophy and prize. Trophies were also awarded to Man of the Series, Man of the Match, Best Bowler, and Best Man.
On this occasion, Nursing Council's Iqbal Kadiwala, Nursing Council Secretary Kiran Domadia, Adajan's social leader Ketanbhai Patel, Dr. Ashwin Pandya, Nilesh Lathia, Seema Chopra, Vicky Chopra, Manishaben Wadia, and other nursing college students and dignitaries were present.
The Gujarat Nursing Cricket Premier League-2 tournament was a great success and showcased the talent and dedication of the nursing staff and students in Gujarat. It was also a reminder of the importance of sports in the lives of healthcare professionals.
