Surat, October 14, 2023: The Uttaran police in Surat raided a gambling den run by a housewife in Seelwasa Residency, Mota Varachha, and arrested six women. Goods worth Rs 2.41 lakh, including cash and mobile phones, were seized from the den.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided flat no. B/1102 of Seelwasa Residency near ABC Circle, Mota Varachha. The house belonged to Jyotsna Mahesh Paghdal (42), who used to provide a place for gambling games and charge money for it.
In addition to Paghdal, the police also arrested Manju Bhupat Dabhi (45), Sonal Vitthal Padalia (46), Saroj Mansukh Sawaliya (41), Sunit Tarun Patel (42), and Hema Girish Moolchandani (40).
The police seized Rs 10,000 in cash, six mobile phones, and Rs 1.70 lakh in cash from the den. The total value of the goods seized is Rs 2.41 lakh.
All six women have been arrested and legal action has been taken against them.
