Nilesh Rathore becomes new Mayor of Vadodara for six months

Nilesh Rathore of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been unanimously appointed as the new Mayor of Vadodara Municipal Corporation for a term of six months. Rathore replaced Keyur Rokadia, who recently resigned after becoming an MLA. Rokadia's two-year term as Mayor was set to end on Friday.

Rathore has been associated with the BJP since 2006 and has served as a corporator in the corporation for three terms. He was also appointed as the party leader of the corporation of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the board.

The decision to appoint Rathore was taken at a meeting of BJP corporators in the presence of Vadodara Municipal Corporation Party State General Minister Bhargavabhai Bhatt, City President Dr. Vijay Shah, and MP Ranjanben Bhatt. The proposal for Rathore's appointment was later put forth in the general meeting of the corporation and was supported by both BJP and Congress.

The newly appointed Mayor expressed gratitude towards the party leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Vadodara. He also thanked his predecessor Rokadia for his contribution to the city during his term. Rathore's appointment as Mayor is expected to bring new energy and direction to the development of Vadodara.
