Surat Crime Branch solves 21 vehicle theft cases, arrests Madhya Pradesh gang member
11 stolen vehicles recovered, accused wanted in seven crimes since 2017
Surat Crime Branch has solved 21 cases of vehicle theft by arresting Sagarit of Chikhoda gang of Madhya Pradesh from Laskana. The crime branch has seized 11 stolen vehicles from him. The accused was wanted in seven crimes registered at various police stations in Surat since 2017.
The crime branch has seized valuables worth Rs 3.53 lakh from the accused and is trying to recover other stolen vehicles.
According to Surat Crime Branch PI Lalit Vagadia, the Crime Branch team was on patrol in Laskana when they arrested the accused based on specific information.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing vehicles from various police stations in Surat. The Crime Branch was able to solve a total of 21 incidents of vehicle theft with the help of the accused.
The accused is a resident of Chikhoda village in Madhya Pradesh and is a member of the Chikhoda gang. Other members of the gang are also involved in the crime of vehicle theft.
The accused stole the vehicles from Surat and hid them in their hometown or in Surat. They later sold the vehicles and received cash.
Surat Crime Branch has seized 11 vehicles out of the total 21 vehicle theft crimes recorded in the Surat City Police Register. The crime branch is making efforts to recover the other stolen vehicles.
During interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that other stolen vehicles were sold in his native place Madhya Pradesh. The crime branch is conducting further investigation to seize the vehicles.
The arrest of the accused and the recovery of the stolen vehicles is a major success for the Surat Crime Branch. It shows the commitment of the crime branch to crack down on crime and ensure the safety and security of the citizens.
