Surat Incident Sounds Alarm for Parents: 7-Month-Old Chews on a Lizard
Parents Cautioned to Keep a Vigilant Eye on Young Children as Innocent Play Leads to Hospitalization
SURAT: In a startling incident in Kadodara's Neelkanth Society, a 7-month-old girl unknowingly put her life at risk when she chewed on a lizard while playing. Nitara, daughter of Abhishek Singh, an accountant by profession, was playing alone at home when she innocently mistook the passing reptile for food.
Her mother, preoccupied with household chores, discovered the distressing scene when she found her daughter with the remnants of the chewed lizard. Reacting promptly, the girl was rushed to the nearest medical facility. Due to the potential dangers associated with ingesting such creatures, she was transferred to Surat Civil Hospital for comprehensive care.
Fortunately, the child's condition is reported to be stable, and she is showing signs of recovery.
This incident serves as a stark reminder for parents about the inherent curiosity of young children and their lack of discernment. It underscores the necessity for vigilant supervision, especially given children's propensity to explore their surroundings and put objects in their mouths, unaware of potential dangers. This natural curiosity can inadvertently expose them to life-threatening situations, as evidenced by the harrowing experience faced by the Singh family in Kadodara.
