Vadodara Updates Fire Safety Certificate Validity and Charges

VADODARA - Vadodara Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade has announced changes to the validity periods and fees associated with Fire Safety Certificates (NOC). Effective from 11-1-2022, new Fire Safety Certificates will have a three-year validity, while renewals will be valid for two years.

This change follows an amendment to the Gujarat Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Rules 2014, noted in the notification dated 22-1-2021. The Standing Committee of the Corporation approved the extension of the Fire NOC validity period in a resolution on September 5.

Within and outside the corporation's jurisdiction, including forested areas, the Fire NOC is issued. The charge for new NOCs for entities like hotels, hospitals, schools, private colleges, and low-rise institutions is set at ten thousand rupees. For multi-storey testing within the corporation, fees vary based on building height: Rs 1 lakh for 18 to 29 meters (valid for 30 years), Rs 2 lakh for 30 to 49 meters, and Rs 5 lakh for buildings above 50 meters.

For the annual renewal tests of establishments such as petrol pumps, gas warehouses, and multi-storeyed structures within the corporation's limits, the rate for renewing the fire tower NOC for a single visit is Rs 3,000. In the Wuda area, the annual renewal fee stands at fifteen thousand, with an inspection fee of fifteen thousand and a renewal fee of three thousand.
