INDORE – At the 'India Smart City Conclave 2023' overseen by His Excellency President Draupadi Murmu, Surat Municipal Corporation and Smart City Development Limited proudly represented their achievements in the Smart Cities Award Competition of 2022. The event celebrated the country's most innovative urban projects and initiatives.
Surat Municipal Corporation clinched the second rank in the Smart City category, demonstrating their commitment to developing a sustainable and technologically advanced urban space. The corporation's distinctive projects didn't stop there. Their exemplary work under the ICCC Business Model, which emphasized a financially sustainable model for self-reliance, and the development of the Anuvrat Canal Corridor in the Innovative Idea category, further showcased their forward-thinking approach.
Additionally, their proactive initiatives during the Covid-19 pandemic earned them accolades in the Covid Innovation category.
The award ceremony in Indore saw the presence of Mayor Dakshesh Mavani, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, and Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Surat Smart City, Swati Desai, who accepted the honors on behalf of their dedicated teams.
