5-year-old Girl in Surat Rescued After Swallowing Ring While Playing

A young girl in Surat had a lucky escape after swallowing a ring while playing. The incident occurred when 5-year-old Manasvi Mahant, from Odisha and currently living in the Pandesara area of Surat, put a copper ring on her finger and playfully placed it in her mouth. Unfortunately, the ring got stuck in her esophagus, causing the young girl to experience a sore throat.

The family became concerned and rushed her to the civil hospital where doctors conducted an X-ray and discovered the ring was stuck. Due to the severity of the situation, doctors from the ENT Department of the hospital immediately started preparing the young girl for surgery.

A team of doctors, including an ENT specialist and civil surgeon, spent over an hour carefully using binoculars to remove the ring. Had the ring not been removed promptly, the child's condition could have deteriorated.

The incident serves as a reminder for parents to keep a watchful eye on their young children while they play, especially when small objects are involved.
