Surat : New Uttaran Police Station Inaugurated in Surat to Enhance Law Enforcement and Public Safety
Constructed with public participation at a cost of 28 lakhs, the station aims to benefit over 3.5 lakh citizens in the fast-growing city.
Surat city takes a decisive step towards enhancing law enforcement by inaugurating a new building for Uttaran Police Station, constructed separately from Amroli Police Station. Created with public collaboration at a cost of 28 lakhs, the new facility will provide accessible police services and speedy justice to the citizens of Mota Varachha, Bharthana, and Uttaran areas.
The Forest and Environment Minister, present at the ceremony, congratulated the Surat Police for their outstanding performance in maintaining law and order. He emphasized that Surat's position as Asia's fastest-growing city necessitated the creation of this new facility to keep up with the population's needs. The separation of Uttaran Police Station from Amroli Police Station is anticipated to ease the burden, thereby increasing peace and security in the area.
He further lauded Surat city police's national leadership in apprehending criminals through bold operations across various states. Despite numerous challenges, Gujarat has earned the reputation as the top state in maintaining law and order, largely due to the relentless dedication of its police force. The minister also highlighted Surat Police's role in saving families from exorbitant interest rates, facilitating loans worth Rs 66 crores to those in need.
The inauguration was attended by notable personalities, including Deputy Mayor Dineshbhai Jodhani, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) H.R. Chowdhary, Add Commissioner of Police (Sector-2) KN Damor, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-5) Rakesh Barot, Deputy Commissioner of Police Commissioner (Traffic) Amita Vanani, local leaders, police officers, and a substantial number of citizens. This significant addition to Surat's law enforcement infrastructure reflects a continued commitment to public safety and order in one of Asia's most rapidly expanding urban areas.
