SURAT – As the bustling city of Surat prepares for the grand inauguration of the Diamond Bourse by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17, there's another reason for its residents to rejoice. Alongside the Bourse inauguration, the city will unveil its new international flight routes, positioning Surat on the global map with direct air links to major cities like Hong Kong, London, Dubai, and Singapore.
This momentous decision followed a series of key parliamentary sessions in Delhi. Important decisions were made, as has been customary each year, and this year was no exception. Surat City MP Darshana Jardosh and Navsari MP C.R. Patil shared insights on various government decisions aimed at holistic development.
Jardosh, who also serves as the Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, emphasized the significant strides made by the Railway Department, highlighting its benefits to the masses. "Development works have been pursued relentlessly, even in states where the BJP isn't in power, ensuring progress isn't hindered by regional political differences," she noted.
Speaking about organizational initiatives, C.R. Patil discussed programs designed to bolster party support and foster community engagement. The upcoming "Amritvan" program is one such initiative slated for launch soon, aiming to deepen connections between the party and its constituents.
Elaborating on the international flight announcement, Patil revealed that the inauguration date for the Diamond Bourse was finalized after discussions with both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Aviation Minister Jyotir Aditya Scindia in Delhi. He said, "Given current staffing levels, we'll see a spike in flight operations this December. A daily flight to Sharjah will be launched, and upon the Prime Minister's inauguration of the Diamond Bourse, we'll announce flights to other global hubs. In fact, Surat is set to receive even more flights than currently demanded."
This dual inauguration - both the Diamond Bourse and international flights - signifies a pivotal moment for Surat, propelling it into a new era of global connectivity and economic growth.
