A 21-year-old female student in Vadodara has filed a complaint with the police alleging that she and her sister were threatened with rape and defamed by a group of three young men on motorcycles on February 21. The trio then left the scene, but when the student later informed her friends about the incident, they tried to intervene and explain the situation to the young men. In response, the group of six, which included the trio, attacked and beat the two friends with waist belts.
The police have registered a case against five persons, including a person named Vishal, under sections including extortion, intimidation, and further investigation. The student, who is pursuing a BA at MS University, filed a complaint with the police the following day. She alleges that the young men had threatened to rape her and her sister and destroy their dignity before leaving the scene.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of women and the need for greater vigilance and protection against sexual assault and violence. The police are conducting further investigations and have assured the public that they will take strict action against those found responsible for the assault.
