A woman was rescued by the fire department after a house fire broke out in the Navapura-Golwad area of Surat. The fire started on the third floor of the ground plus three-storey building and quickly spread to the second floor, which was made of wood, causing significant damage to the property.
The fire department received a call for help and dispatched three to four vehicles to the scene from the Ghanchisheri, Maan Darwaja, Navsari Bazar, and Majura Fire Station. The team worked quickly to rescue the woman, identified as Damayantiben, who was trapped on the second floor.
According to the fire officer, the fire started in the stone shed on the third floor, and its cause is still unknown. The building's old construction caused the fire to spread rapidly, resulting in damage to the second and third floors.
Thankfully, no casualties were reported in the incident. The fire department worked quickly to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to other buildings in the area. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in all types of buildings.
