Surat Stunt Performer's Father Penalized for Son's Dangerous Act

In Surat, an extravagant car stunt performed by an underage teenager has led to the filing of a complaint against the youth's father. A video that showcased the teenager driving a luxury car with one hand while stepping out of the moving vehicle went viral, catching the attention of the Sarthana police. Investigations revealed that the performer was a 17-year-old boy who did not possess a driving license, which resulted in the registration of a complaint against his father.

Following a similar incident in Ahmedabad, law enforcement authorities across Gujarat are adopting stringent measures against such risky exhibitions. Initially, no action was taken by the police after the video from Surat surfaced online. However, as the footage drew widespread criticism and controversy, the police were compelled to take action. The 17-year-old stunt performer and his father, Khoda Raghubhai Bharwad, have now been implicated in a case registered by the Sarthana police.

The juvenile performed these perilous stunts on a BRTS road stretching from Sarthana Seemadanaka to Datar Chowkdi, putting the lives of others at risk due to his dangerous antics. He also reportedly recorded and shared these stunts on social media platforms.

As the video spread, police were able to identify the car's license plate number using CCTV footage. The investigation led them to the vehicle's owner, Khodbhai Bharwad. Upon interrogation, Khodbhai admitted he had lent his car to his son to refuel it. In addition to his reckless stunt, the 17-year-old also confessed to not having a driving license. As a result, both the teenager and his father, who allowed him to drive without a license, now face legal action.

The car used for the stunt was not seized by the police, a decision that has raised some questions. However, in response, PI Viral Patel said that it is not obligatory to seize the vehicle in every case, even in instances of accidents.
