Vadodara Police Dismantle Notorious Chain Snatching Gang Led by Immigrant Brothers
Seven Cases Solved Following Arrest of Four Suspects, Including the Mastermind Brothers
In a recent crackdown, the Vadodara police have dismantled a chain-snatching gang known for targeting women across the city. The arrests of four individuals, including two immigrant brothers who led the gang, have provided solutions to seven chain-snatching incidents in the area.
Mastermind Siddharth, also known as Babu, from the Waghodia Road locality, operated the chain-snatching spree using various accomplices. Their modus operandi involved targeting women riding scooters and robbing them of their jewelry. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended Siddharth and his associate, Mohammad Sabir, near Vaikunth Society. Following the arrests, seven chain-snatching incidents across the city were traced back to the gang.
Police seized five chains and two motorcycles during their operation. The suspects taken into custody include Siddharth alias Babu Anil Bhai Gupta and his brother Lal Kumar alias Vikas Gupta, both residents of Vaikunth Sector-1, Waghodia Road. Also arrested were Mohammad Sabir alias Jacqueline Zakir Hussain Panagar from Saraswati Complex and Sagar Maheshbhai Parmar from Waghodia Road in Makam, Sonpur Guda.
The arrested suspects are currently undergoing thorough interrogation. These successful arrests represent a significant step in ensuring the safety of women in Vadodara.
