Digital 'Sharing Story' Session Brings Joy to Bedridden Patient
SaMvitti Foundation's 'Govalani' Story Narration Acts as Therapy for 75-Year-Old Post-Critical Operation Patient.
A SaMvitti Foundation digital 'sharing story' session of the story 'Govalani' has been a source of therapy for a 75-year-old bedridden patient. The patient, Vinodrai Pithadiya, was recovering from a critical operation when his granddaughter, Jeel Dabhi, showed him the story narrated by Sahitya Mitra Urvashi Nayak. The story, written by Kanchanlal Vasudev Mehta, brought a smile to Vinodrai's face, lifting his spirits during a difficult time.
Vinodrai's gall bladder had caught an infection, leading to a risky emergency operation that lasted for two hours. His recovery was expected to be slow due to his age, and he was kept in CCU for 48 hours and in ICU for one week before being shifted to the regular ward. Post-operation, Vinodrai was feeling nervous and scared for his life, but Jeel showed him the digital 'sharing story' session to cheer him up.
Jeel, who is a visiting faculty member at a college in Vadodara, came across SaMvitti Foundation's YouTube channel during her research on Dr. Darshini Dadawala, her PhD guide. She found the 'Sharing Story' sessions to be a great source of positivity and therapy for people. The SaMvitti Foundation's mission is to inspire people to find true happiness, and the 'Sharing Story' initiative is one way to share positivity in society.
Jeel expressed her gratitude to SaMvitti Foundation for its wonderful initiative, which has changed the lives of many people over the years. She believes that the one-act play with movements and expressions in the digital 'sharing story' session was a therapy for her grandfather, as it brought a smile to his face and helped him recover from post-operation treatment.
