SURAT: As the ominous clouds of Cyclone Biparjoy gather over Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat, the state's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has swung into action. Recognizing the potential for devastating impacts, State President C.R. Patil has rallied BJP workers across Gujarat, instructing them to swiftly assemble emergency aid kits for those likely to be affected.
In response to the call to arms, the Surat BJP office has initiated the process of preparing these vital kits. The contents of the kits, aimed at offering immediate assistance, include sweets, snacks, milk powder, and candles.
Cyclone Biparjoy is expected to strike Gujarat after the 15th, with Saurashtra's coastal region and Kutch at particular risk of heavy loss and widespread destruction. Anticipating the worst, the administration has begun relocating inhabitants from numerous coastal villages in Saurashtra.
Capitalizing on digital technology, State President Patil convened a virtual meeting with BJP district heads and officials, explicitly directing the preparation of aid kits. Acting promptly on these instructions, the Surat BJP office is working diligently to assemble the relief packages.
Surat BJP City President, Niranjan Janjmera, confirmed that the initial round of preparations includes the production of 2000 kg of Sukhdi (a sweet dish) and 2000 kg of Namkeen (snacks). He added that South Gujarat, including Surat, is likely to escape the brunt of the cyclone. However, areas like Porbandar and Dwarka in Saurashtra, along with numerous villages in Kutch, may bear the full brunt of the impending disaster.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the storm's exact impact, the BJP has committed to continuing the service for as long as the need exists. Should the devastation exceed initial estimates, the BJP has assured that its relief efforts will be ongoing until all affected individuals receive the necessary assistance.
