Rajamouli to Create the Biggest War Sequence for Mahesh Babu's Film

Hyderabad, June 29. Director S.S. Rajamouli is preparing one of the biggest war scenes in Indian cinema for his upcoming mythological action film 'Varanasi'.

According to reports, the shooting of this grand sequence will begin on July 7, 2026, in Hyderabad. In the war scene, actor Mahesh Babu will be seen leading a massive army of 3,500 junior artists. With the help of visual effects, these artists will be depicted as around 50,000 monkey warriors, making the scene look extremely grand and vast.

In the film, Mahesh Babu will appear as 'Rudra', while Priyanka Chopra Jonas will return to Indian cinema after eight years in the role of 'Mandakini'. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran will play the character of 'Kumbh'. It is reported that the film's story will be inspired by the 'Ramayana', prominently featuring mythological characters, natural disasters, fictional events, and the emotional relationship between father and son.

Rajamouli's ambitious project is being prepared on a large scale. The makers claim that the film will provide audiences with a new cinematic experience in terms of technology, visual effects, and storytelling. 'Varanasi' is scheduled to be released in theaters worldwide on April 7, 2027.
