Rajkot district's cleanliness campaign gains momentum, extensive cleaning of ponds and drains
On the occasion of the completion of 12 years of development, trust, and public welfare under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a 'Cleanliness Campaign Week' is being celebrated in Rajkot district from June 8 to 14. This campaign focuses on the cleaning of ponds, lakes, rivers, and drains in various rural areas of the district.
Under the campaign, cleaning of ponds and lakes was carried out in Kasturba Dham (Tramba) village of Rajkot taluka. Additionally, extensive cleaning of rivers and drains was conducted with the participation of villagers in Sarpadda and Targhadi villages of Padadhari taluka and Rabarika village of Jetpur taluka. Furthermore, a special cleaning program was organized in Bedi village of Rajkot taluka in the presence of District Panchayat President Sanjaybhai Pipaliya and members of the District and Taluka Panchayat.
During this, public representatives and villagers focused on the drainage system for rainwater, cleaning of drains, and water disposal routes, keeping in mind the health and convenience of the village. Through the Cleanliness Campaign Week, awareness about cleanliness in rural areas is being increased, along with encouraging active participation from the people. This campaign is proving to be an important initiative in strengthening the resolve of 'Swachh Bharat'.
