Surat: A routine delivery by an online company turned into a horrifying incident in the Bhatar area of Surat when a delivery worker allegedly molested a customer at her home. The accused, identified as Sufiyan Firoz Patel, has been taken into custody.
The alleged incident occurred in Umrao Nagar, where the victim, a private company employee, was home alone awaiting her online delivery. When Patel arrived to deliver her parcel, he allegedly took advantage of the situation and physically assaulted her under the guise of complimenting her beauty.
When the young woman raised an alarm, neighbors and bystanders rushed to her aid, apprehending Patel. The crowd physically retaliated against the courier worker before alerting the police.
Officers from Umra Police Station promptly arrived at the scene and took Patel into custody. A case of molestation has been filed against him based on the victim's complaint, and further legal action is underway.
