Surat : Sumul Dairy Increases Milk and Fat Prices to Promote Milk Production
Price increase aims to reduce financial burden on milk producers and encourage more people to take up milk production.
Sumul Dairy, one of the largest dairy producers in Surat and Tapi districts, has announced a price increase for milk and cow's milk fat. The decision to increase the prices was made by Sumul's Board of Directors and Chairman, Mansingh Chowdhary. The price increase comes in response to rising inflation and production costs, and aims to encourage more people to take up milk production.
The price of cow's milk fat has increased by Rs 30 per kg to Rs 780, while the price of buffalo fat has gone up to Rs 810, a hike of Rs 30. The increase in prices will be effective from February 21, 2023.
Mansingh Chowdhary said that over 2.5 lakh livestock farmers in Surat and Tapi districts are associated with Sumul Dairy, and many women are actively involved in the field of milk production. The decision to increase the price of milk fat was taken to provide maximum incentives for milk production, and to reduce the financial burden on milk producers caused by rising production costs. The increase in prices is expected to benefit milk producers and encourage more people to engage in milk production.
The decision has been met with positive feedback from milk producers, who are happy about the price increase for milk fat. Sumul Dairy's efforts to encourage milk production will help to sustain the dairy industry and support the livelihoods of those involved in milk production.
