Surat: Parcel transportation fee increased in textile market, an additional charge of 15 rupees per parcel from June 1

Surat. A decision has been made to increase the parcel transportation fee in Surat's textile market.

The Surat District Textile Marketing Transport Labour Union has announced an increase of 15 rupees per parcel due to rising inflation and increased operational costs. The union's president, Umashankar Mishra, and spokesperson, Shan Khan, stated that the prices of everyday items have risen due to continuous inflation. Additionally, there has been a consistent increase in fuel, transportation, and labor charges.

Considering these circumstances, the union has decided to revise the parcel transportation fee. A formal letter regarding this will be sent to all market managements in the textile market.

Parcel workers have also been instructed to inform their respective traders about the new rates. The new increased rates will be effective from June 1, 2026.
