Surat: 100-Year-Old Nanuben Rajpara's Inspirational Farewell: A Message of Humanity Through Eye Donation, Body Donation, and Blood Donation Camp

Following the passing of 100-year-old Nanuben Jhaverbhai Rajpara, her family performed noble acts such as eye donation and body donation, presenting a remarkable example of humanity and service. In her memory, a blood donation camp was also organized, collecting 43 units of blood.

Originally from Dhhasa (Taluka Gadhda, District Botad), Nanuben passed away in Surat's Avadh Pulse Berry Society. Her sons, Ashokbhai and Jayantibhai, informed Dr. Prafullbhai Shiroya, leading to the completion of the eye donation process through Lok Drishti Eye Bank.

After this, her body was dedicated to New Civil Hospital by the Indian Red Cross Society, Choryasi branch. Dineshbhai Jogani, Vice President of Lok Drishti Eye Bank, Vishalbhai Vaghani from the Farmers' Union, and Dr. Raj Kishore Behera provided significant support for this service work.

This noble act was completed in the presence of family members, neighbors, relatives, and friends. During the final journey, Nanuben's mortal remains were taken to New Civil Hospital with drums and trumpets, where Dr. Bhartiben Maisuriya accepted the body donation.

On this occasion, several dignitaries, including trustees of Lok Drishti Eye Bank, members of the Red Cross Society Choryasi Taluka, Kishorbhai Mangrolia, President of the Lions Club of Surat East, and Zone Chairman Jagdishbhai Bodra, paid their respects. Dineshbhai Jogani mentioned that eye donation within six hours of death can bring light to two or more individuals within 72 hours. Dr.

Shiroya informed that Nanuben had pledged to donate her body with the family's consent during a previous organ donation awareness program. According to experts, body donation aids medical students in studying the internal structure of the body and conducting research, leading to the development of better doctors and strengthening health services. Through this inspirational initiative, the Rajpara family conveyed the message to society that "Donate blood while alive and donate eyes, body, and organs after death — this is the greatest donation."
