Amid Iran-US Conflict, President Donald Trump Extends Ceasefire
US President Donald Trump has officially announced the extension of the ceasefire with Iran. He shared this information on the social media platform 'Truth Social', stating that the decision was made at the special request of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir.
He mentioned that the Iranian government currently appears to be internally divided, hence they are being given additional time to prepare a joint and concrete proposal for peace talks. Despite the extension of the ceasefire, Trump clarified that the US military will fully maintain its blockade and encirclement against Iran. The President has instructed the US military to remain capable and prepared to handle any situation at all times.
He emphasized that the ceasefire is only effective until Tehran presents its official proposal and diplomatic talks reach a logical conclusion. This step indicates that the US is giving diplomacy a chance but is not in the mood to reduce military pressure. Amid steps towards the peace process, the proposed visit of US Vice President J.D.
Vance to Pakistan has been postponed. According to media reports, this decision was made due to the lack of a positive response from Tehran to US proposals.
Meanwhile, Iran has not yet clarified whether it will come to the table for direct dialogue with the US. Amid this diplomatic stalemate, tensions in the region remain high, and the world is now watching Iran's next move to see if it uses this extended time for peace or confrontation.
