Trump Calls Iran's New Peace Proposal 'Garbage': Says Ceasefire is on 'Life Support'
Washington, May 12. U.S. President Donald Trump has completely rejected the recent peace proposal sent by Iran, labeling it as 'garbage'.
Speaking to the media in the Oval Office, Trump stated that he has not even read the proposal in full as it is extremely 'foolish'. According to the President, the current ceasefire situation is on 'life support' and Iran is going through its weakest phase yet. Trump questioned Tehran's leadership capabilities, claiming that their military actions have caused significant damage to Iran's top leadership on multiple levels.
Criticizing Iran's nuclear program, Trump reiterated that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons at any cost. He stated that Iran is an unstable and dangerous nation, and thus, having nuclear power in its hands poses a threat to the world. Trump claimed that Iranian nuclear sites have been so severely damaged by U.S. attacks that Iran has sought help from the U.S. to remove 'nuclear dust' from those sites.
He described U.S. military action as a 'great service' to the world and heavily criticized the lenient policies of previous administrations. On the other hand, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf responded by stating that the U.S. has no option but to accept Iran's 14-point proposal. He warned that any delay in this matter would have economic repercussions for American taxpayers.
Meanwhile, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization clarified that the issues of uranium enrichment and nuclear technology are not included in the agenda for any negotiations. Tehran asserts that the focus of any potential talks should solely be on ending regional warfare, not compromising on their nuclear rights.
