Health Awareness Session by Chamber of Commerce in Surat, Experts Provided Key Advice on Nutrition and Digestive Health

The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a health awareness session on 'From Nutrition to Digestive Health - Creating a Healthy and Productive India' on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Samriddhi Bhavan in Nanpura. The event aimed to raise awareness about better health, balanced diet, and lifestyle.

The chamber's president, Nikhil Madrasi, in his welcome address, noted that in today's fast-paced lifestyle, people are neglecting their health, leading to a rapid increase in various diseases. He emphasized that healthy human resources are the foundation of the country's development and such programs play a crucial role in raising awareness in society. Clinical dietitian and medical nutrition therapist Roshni Pithawala provided guidance on 'Healthy People, Healthy India', highlighting the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet for boosting energy and immunity.

She advised avoiding fast food and opting for fresh, home-cooked meals. Senior anorectal surgeon Dr. Bhavin Bhua expressed concern over the rising cases of anorectal diseases like piles, fissures, and fistulas, attributing them to poor diet and an unbalanced lifestyle, stressing the need for timely check-ups and treatment.

Dr. Naresh Chavatia elaborated on the treatment of these diseases, home remedies, and lifestyle management, emphasizing regular exercise, adequate water intake, maintaining hygiene, and adopting a balanced diet, along with the necessity of consulting a doctor for any issues.

Chamber group chairman Rakesh Gandhi presented the program outline, while industrial workers' health committee co-chairman Nikhil Vaghasiya conducted the session. He concluded the event by thanking all participants.
