Old Grudge Turns Deadly in Surat: A Youth Stabbed to Death

Surat, Salabatpura: An old enmity took a deadly turn late last night, resulting in the tragic death of a young man. Dhanraj Sapkale, a 21-year-old resident of Salabatpura, was fatally stabbed during a heated altercation near a local rickshaw stand at Maan Darwaza Bambawadi street. Despite prompt medical attention, Sapkale succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The fatal dispute escalated from a seemingly harmless conversation between Sapkale and Asif Rashid Sheikh, the primary suspect in this case. The argument quickly turned violent, leading to the brutal assault. ACP Chirag Patel confirmed that Sheikh stabbed Sapkale in the thigh, causing excessive bleeding that ultimately led to his demise.

Asif, who also sustained injuries during the incident, has been apprehended by local police and is currently under medical care. The suspect, with a pre-existing criminal record, had previously been implicated in numerous offences.

The investigation suggests that this act of violence stems from an old enmity between the two individuals. In addition to Sheikh, there were two or three other individuals present at the scene, who are also being probed. The police are conducting a comprehensive investigation, sifting through all available leads to fully understand the circumstances leading to this unfortunate event.
