An important meeting was held regarding the PNG connection amidst the gas supply issue in the Sachin Industrial Area of Surat. The meeting took place at the Sachin Notified Area Authority office with the presence of officials from Gujarat Gas Company and industrialists.
Due to the current global situation, there has been a disruption in gas supply, leading to a shortage of gas cylinders in both domestic and industrial sectors. Industrial units without PNG connections are particularly facing difficulties in maintaining production, raising concerns among industrialists about worker migration. In response to this issue, several industrialists had applied for PNG connections with Gujarat Gas Limited, but the matter reached the administration due to delays in resolution.
Subsequently, the notified chairman, Nilesh Gami, called for a meeting on April 6. During the meeting, the deputy manager of Gujarat Gas and his team presented the process for obtaining PNG connections to the industrialists. Additionally, the industrialists who had applied were present with their files, allowing for discussions and immediate solutions.
During this time, under the initiative of Secretary Mayur Golwala, pending applications for PNG connections were cleared immediately, paving the way for interested industrialists to obtain gas connections. Several industrialists, including Rajeshbhai Gol, Bharatbhai Trapsia, Amarbha, Alpeshbhai Ramkrupa, Vimal Limbasiya, Hardik Kataria, and director Bhikhabhai Nakrani, were present at the meeting. This initiative is being considered a relief measure for the industrial sector, helping to maintain production and prevent worker migration.
