Surat: Ring Road Connecting Route Closed for One Month
Surat Municipal Corporation has implemented significant traffic arrangements for the construction of storm box drains under T.P. Scheme No. 84 in the New East (Sarthana) zone. The Municipal Commissioner, M. Nagarajan, has issued an order utilizing the powers granted under Section 236 (1) (2) of the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporation Act, 1949.
According to the order, the T.P. Road connecting the outer ring road at Gopin Circle Junction will be completely closed to all types of vehicles and pedestrians from April 15, 2026, to May 15, 2026. This decision aims to facilitate the smooth completion of the construction of storm box drains on both sides of the ring road.
During the construction, alternative routes have been designated. Vehicles heading from Nand Chowk (Mota Varachha) towards the ring road can turn left from Mota Varachha-Abrama Check Post Four Road and reach the ring road via Kashtabhangan Chowk. Similarly, vehicles traveling from the ring road towards Nand Chowk can use internal routes from Kashtabhangan Chowk.
Additionally, vehicles from Abrama village heading towards the ring road can turn right from Gopin River Ville Three Road and proceed via Major Exotica Four Road to their destination. Alternative routes have also been established for vehicles traveling from the ring road towards Abrama. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens to adhere to the designated diversion routes and maintain cooperation during the construction work. The route will be reopened to traffic after the work is completed.
