Education Illuminates Life: KP Group and PP Savani University Launch Urjanur Scholarship for Needy Students

Surat — The KP Group's philanthropic branch, KP Human Development Foundation, has launched the Urjanur Scholarship program in collaboration with PP Savani University, aimed at assisting needy students studying in renewable energy and related fields.

This initiative was inaugurated on March 24, coinciding with the 55th birthday of Dr. Faruk G. Patel, founder, chairman, and managing director of KP Group. Under this scheme, eligible students enrolled in B.Tech and diploma engineering courses will receive completely free education, including tuition fees, hostel, meals, and transportation.

As per agency report, this scholarship program is designed to prepare skilled human resources for the clean energy sector while providing quality education to economically disadvantaged students. Currently, 92 students are benefiting from this program, with plans for further expansion in the coming years. Additionally, 30 students from Botswana, where KP Group is investing nearly $4 billion, will also be included annually. This means that this year, 120 students will receive this scholarship.

The CMD of KP Group, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting youth with potential who lack the right opportunities. Through the KP Human Development Foundation, they aim to empower needy students to realize their dreams. The goal is not just to provide financial assistance for education but also to develop skills and talent to create a strong renewable energy workforce for the country.

The Urjanur Scholarship aims to create an inclusive model that provides educational and employment opportunities without discrimination based on religion, caste, or social status. The managing director of PP Savani University, Sneha Savani, stated that they aspire to provide students not only with education but also with means of income post-education. Their responsibility extends beyond merely imparting education to ensuring that students can support their families.

For many students, this is their first experience in a university environment, where they have access to classes, laboratories, and structured learning facilities. This scholarship provides students with housing, meals, and transportation, creating a stable environment that allows them to focus on their studies and skill development.

Dr. Parag Sanghani, provost of PP Savani University, remarked that the purpose of education is to prepare excellent engineers for the country through the coordination of heart and mind. This is a small effort in the field of sustainable energy.

The program will also offer industry exposure and employment opportunities, with continuous guidance provided to students by the KP Human Development Foundation.

Dr. Faruk Patel concluded by stating that their ultimate goal is for students to become self-reliant, support their families, advance society, and contribute to the nation's progress. The Urjanur Scholarship program reflects the KP Group's vision to build a strong chain of skilled talents to drive the country's clean energy transition.
