Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar The Revenge crosses one thousand crore mark in opening week
Hyderabad, March 27. The Ranveer Singh starrer film Dhurandhar The Revenge has created history at the box office by crossing the one thousand crore rupee mark worldwide within just one week of its release. The film has captivated audiences with its powerful action and suspense, while its choice of filming locations has also garnered significant attention. Specifically, the scenes filmed at the Lawrence School, Sanawar, located in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, have provided a unique grandeur to the movie. The ancient corridors and classic buildings of the school added a distinct charm to the visuals, marking a return to this location as the previous installment of the franchise was also shot there.
As per agency report, Lawrence School, Sanawar, which was established in 1847, is recognized as the oldest co-educational boarding school in Asia. The connection between the film and the school is deeply personal as actor Sanjay Dutt, who plays the lead role of SP Aslam, is himself an alumnus of this institution. The school principal stated that lead actors Ranveer Singh and Yami Gautam spent considerable time interacting with the students during the shooting schedule, making it a memorable experience for the children.
The school boasts a prestigious list of former students including Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta, and Pooja Bedi, further strengthening the bond between the film's location and the film industry. This relationship with Bollywood spans decades, as legendary figures like Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt also chose this school for their children's education. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film continues the story from the 2025 hit movie. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film features strong performances by R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Sara Arjun. The combination of a modern cinematic experience and a historical setting has established Dhurandhar The Revenge as the biggest blockbuster of the year, with the team currently celebrating its massive success.
