According to Bahal, during the shooting of a film, a character actor who was working with them came to the hotel where Akshay was staying for lunch. That actor was staying at another hotel. As soon as he tried to take the first bite of food, a member of the production team stopped him, stating that any artist not staying at that hotel could not eat the food there.
It was reported that this objection came from the producer's wife or a close relative. Feeling insulted, the actor quietly put down his plate and sat aside. Akshay Khanna, who was watching all this from a distance, erupted in anger like a volcano that day.
He immediately intervened and made a statement about hunger and humanity in front of the entire unit that left everyone speechless. Amit Bahal mentioned that Akshay was very angry that day. He reprimanded the producer and crew members harshly.
Akshay thundered that no film succeeds based on how many plates were saved or how much ration was accounted for, but rather a film is made with the blessings and prayers of the people. He made it clear that those who insult hunger can never be successful. Everyone present on set was astonished to see this fearless and humane side of Akshay.
