SURAT - A groundbreaking achievement has been reported in Surat, where inmates of the Lajpore Central Jail have posted a perfect pass rate in this year's class 12 general stream exams conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). All thirteen prisoners who sat for the exams in March have successfully passed, reflecting the inmates' persistent dedication to personal growth and learning.
The Class 10 and 12 exams were held within the jail premises to allow the prisoners to participate, a unique endeavor aimed at ensuring their right to education. Out of fourteen inmates who participated in the class 10 exams, thirteen passed, leading to an admirable 93% pass rate.
The right to education for the inmates, in line with the orders of the Namdar Court, ensures that even those in judicial custody at Lajpore Jail have access to opportunities for self-improvement. Board exams are a part of the initiative to allow inmates to continue their education, which could potentially brighten their prospects once they step outside the prison walls.

In the Class 10 exams, out of fourteen inmates, thirteen successfully passed. However, one inmate fell short of passing by a slight margin, but this doesn't eclipse the overall impressive results achieved by the inmates.
