Exceptional Class 12 Results from Surat's Municipal Schools Impress All

SURAT - The Municipal Corporation high schools of Surat city have reported an impressive result of 92 percent in the class 12 exams conducted by the Gujarat Board. Among these, the Suman schools located in Katargam and Bhestan-un have achieved an unprecedented 100 percent success rate.

Surat Municipal Corporation holds the unique distinction of being the sole corporation in the nation to provide multilingual education from primary to high school level. The result of Surat city overall stands at 80.78 percent in the exams organized by the Gujarat Board.

A total of 603 candidates from A-1 and 4502 candidates from A-2 participated in the exams. It's worth noting that the Surat Municipal Corporation launched four Suman High Schools in 1999 to offer quality education to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds residing in the city's slum areas.

There are currently 23 operational Suman High Schools in Surat city. Class 11th and 12th studies were initiated in these schools from 2021, and Suman High School has led the pack with remarkable results in the first batch of HSC board exams, reporting a 92.03 percent pass rate in the 2022-23 academic year.

Impressively, a student from Suman High School No. 6, Patil Jagruti Ranchod, has garnered statewide attention by securing the first position in the Marathi medium with an almost perfect score of 99.99 percentile. Patil has achieved this monumental feat despite personal challenges, having lost her father and with her mother working full-time.

Collectively, the four Marathi medium schools reported a 92.41 percent pass rate. Gujarati medium schools and Hindi medium schools followed closely with 91.98 percent and 90.96 percent respectively. Two Gujarati medium Suman High Schools even reported a 100 percent pass rate.

Out of a total of 1217 students in Suman High School, a stunning 1120 students passed. Consequently, the combined result of the 13 municipal schools stands at 92.03 percent. In comparison, the overall board result is 73.27 percent, showcasing the exceptional performance of the Surat Municipal Schools.
