Class 10 Results in Vadodara Show Modest Improvement Amid Pandemic Challenges

Vadodara: The Gujarat Board of Secondary Education released the Class 10 results on Thursday, revealing a 62.24% pass rate for Vadodara. Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, the city's results showed a marginal improvement of 1.3 percentage points compared to the previous year.

However, this improvement was overshadowed by less satisfactory performance in the district's rural areas, contributing to an overall decrease in the board's result. Analysis shows that the pass rate among repeaters fell by 13.45%, among private students by 3.95%, and among regular students by 0.56%.

Vadodara also saw a reduction in the number of students securing A-1 grades this year, trailing behind other cities like Rajkot, Surat, and Ahmedabad. The challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic have clearly impacted the students' performance in these crucial board examinations.

Educators point out that the lack of regular classroom instruction has left students with a shaky foundation in subjects like mathematics and science. Moreover, the shift towards mobile-based learning seems to have impaired students' preparation for the board's paper style, with many struggling with reduced reading and writing practice. This combination of factors has inevitably affected the overall performance of students this year.
