Vadodara Police have apprehended two youths on charges of online betting on IPL cricket matches, marking another incident of this illegal activity in the area. Acting on a tip-off, police officers carried out a raid at a residence near Bhimnath temple in Sayajiganj.
Upon witnessing the pair betting on their mobile phones while watching a match between the Rajasthan Royals and King XI Punjab team, police took swift action. Both suspects were taken into custody, and police confiscated a mobile phone, a TV, and Rs 1150 in cash found at the scene.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jignesh Pravinbhai Parmar and Viraj Mahipatsinh Raulji, both residents of Bhimnath Temple, Sayajiganj. Alongside the arrests, police have launched an investigation to ascertain the identity of any other individuals involved in this betting ring.
