Vadodara to actively participate in nationwide ‘Ekta March Padyatra’ marking 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Vadodara, October 19 – To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Vadodara district will play an active role in the nationwide public campaign ‘Ekta March Padyatra’. This historic march aims to spread Patel’s ideals of national unity, dedication, and leadership among citizens across India.
As per agency report, the district administration has chalked out a detailed plan for the event. Ahead of the padyatra, Vadodara will witness a series of activities including cleanliness drives, yoga camps, unity week celebrations, the Swadeshi Bharat campaign, and various competitions at the school level to promote awareness and participation.
Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, each assembly constituency in Vadodara will establish a ‘Sardar Smriti Van’ where 563 trees will be planted, symbolizing both environmental conservation and national unity. On October 31, cleanliness drives will be organized around statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, and other national heroes to reinforce the message of cleanliness and solidarity in society.
The state-level padyatra is scheduled to be held from November 10 to 18, 2025, across all districts of Gujarat, including Vadodara. The national-level march will commence on November 26, 2025, Constitution Day, from Sardar Patel’s birthplace, Karamsad. It will pass through Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, and Narmada districts before concluding on December 6, 2025, at the Statue of Unity.
Covering a distance of 150 kilometers, the padyatra will symbolize Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India and align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of building a developed and self-reliant nation.
The campaign will see enthusiastic participation from Vadodara’s citizens, college students, NCC and NSS cadets, My Bharat volunteers, cooperative societies, industries, religious groups, social workers, sportspersons, army families, and representatives from local self-governing bodies.
District officials stated that the padyatra will offer a unique opportunity for Vadodara residents to experience the life values and national spirit of Sardar Patel closely, further strengthening the ideals of patriotism, unity, and public service within society.
